Olay Sheer Moisture Ribbons with Mandarin Oil and Sheer Moisture Soap with Mandarin Oil Review

There are two products doing their utmost to fragrance my bathroom right now and for once, I won't complain about overly-perfumed drugstore-brand products.

The scent is a creamy orange fragrance, not quite sharp and fresh like true citrus but like an orange creamsicle just less sweet. It greets you when you approach the washroom and of course scents your skin in the shower.

I was sent this new fragrance by a PR company in the form of bar soap and shower cream soap. I'll review them both here; first, the soap.

Olay Body Sheer Moisture Bar with mandarin oil

Packaging - back
"Olay Sheer Moisture moisturizing bar leaves you with weightlessly moisturized, beautiful skin. Regular soap can leave your skin dry but Olay Sheer Moisture bar infused with mandarin oil will lightly indulge every inch of your body. Enjoy the subtle fragrance inspired by mandarin blossom with every shower."

Olay Body Sheer Moisture Ribbons with Mandarin Oil costs approximately $6.49 CDN for 4 bars.

Soap bar

The inside of the soap box is soft blue, a nice touch.
I like this soap, particularly since the weather is cooling off rapidly and my skin is drier. There is definitely a light moisturizing quality to this soap and it makes all the difference if I don't have time to moisturize in the morning. I do prefer liquid/cream cleansers over soap in the shower, but when I'm in a hurry, soap it is.

Here's the Olay Sheer Moisture Ribbons with Mandarin Oil Body Wash. It has the same creamy mandarin oil fragrance and is meant to both cleanse and moisturize.
Back of the bottle.

This body wash is very luxurious, the lather is creamy and fragranced but not offensively (at least not to me) as many drugstore beauty products can be. I'm a sucker for citrus fragrances so I do love this scent and the creaminess to the scent is a nice touch. It's orange peel and blossom so it's not an edible fragrance, but it's still got that taste-essence and makes my mouth water (orange always does that to me).

Sheer Moisture Ribbons with Mandarin Oil most definitely leaves my skin feeling cleansed, soft and moisturized. It creates quite a luxurious lather in the shower and feels like it's doing what it claims to do.

These are great for the cold, dry skin months of winter, particularly if you like the scent of these. I recommend!

  2. I didn't know they have this scent in bar soap form. But I always prefer shower gels/creams than bar soaps.

I picked up the shower cream from Target when I was in the US in summer. like you, I love citrus-y scent too. And this smells so yummy. and pretty moisturizing for a shower cream.

  3. Hi Anna: cool blog! We're following now :)

Hi VonVon: I agree - I much prefer creams/gels to soap but when I'm in a hurry it's easy to grab a bar and this one is moisturizing, so hey win-win!

  5. Hi Anonymous - where are you? In Canada Olay products are available in many drugstores such as Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, PharmaPlus/PharmaPrix and Rexall. I imagine Olay products are readily available in the US at drugstores and also at stores like Wal-Mart and Kmart.

I hope this helps! Thanks for reading.

  6. Cannot find this product anymore in bath wash form. Amazon has a few from outside vendors that are way over-priced though. I LOVED this scent and had just discovered it when it went away.
